With the path drawing tool, circle and oval make the shape for your bear. Use a golden brown color for the base shape. |

Each Shape are a guide line to where you will paint your fur. Let's start. Select the Body part. Click on Mode, and work your first stroke by going around it, just like in the example on the left. |

Continue to work in your stroke going around and inward until you have cover very well all the inside. Now, Change the color to a bit lighter than what you have. Repeat the same process for all the other parts of the bear.

This is the other parts done. |

Now you need to take each of your part and put it together with the base shape underneat. Once that is done, you could use the retouch tool, the burn one at a low level about 17, to make your shadow. Use the Edit Active Objects Only button to do this. And work on one object t a time. Here I did make here some eyes, with circle shape, I did use the custom shape # B27 from the Custom Shape in PIX3. The line and arrow tool were use to make him a nice smile. Line setting size was at 1 and the spling option was choosen, full line and no arrow line. Made some smaller circle to fit inside the ears and paws, did apply
the Texture Filter, the skin leather look to it. Setting were: |
Once that was done, I did add the fur pain just around the leather patch in mode paint as object. Click out of mode. Then Selected all the fur object, and apply the focus to it. Focus/Option, set at level 2. This emphasis the fur fibers and make it more realistic. Make him a bow set the layer to go under the paws. Select all, merge as a single object and save as a ufo or a png format to keep the transparencies. If you would like to have him small, before merging all, resize him down, this will avoid some unwanted extra color pixels around the edges. |
