| Before we began our painting, just wanted to tell you,
you could change the color, it could be a green winter or a yellow one,
the basic is the same, the shape of your mountain, the river could very
well be a lake, the arrangement of your trees could be different
also, and you could even put some animals there in your scene. It is up
to you, the main thing is that you have some fun painting and learning.
There is 6 pages for the tutorial, I did try to give you as many details as I could, and the last page is the full size of my painting and a few last word. Don't hesitate to email me for any help.

I have made a few pages for the tut so it is faster for download, since it has a lots of graphic. My black canvas size was 640x480, you could use a smaller size if you want with the same ratio. open your easy palette, navigate to where you have import the preset acadiebluewinter. Double click on the first one, it suppose to have # 1 written on it and should be the oil brush. Now with your brush from left to right apply paint on the canvas from top to bottom just like in the example at the left. Ok, now save it and call it # 1 |
|
|
now lets choose the #2 presets it is the smudge tool, smudge from the left to right making one stroke at the time. Do the same for #3 and #4 preset smudge tool. As you change presets look into the panel brush to see the different setting they have, it will help you learn more about it.
Ok, you can save as and call it # 2 just in case you would like to go back to #1. This is how I save all my step for a painting I can always go back if I did run out of undo's...lollll Any way after you painting is completed you can always delete all those file and just keep the finish painting. |

We will try here to make clouds and a moon, using the next preset, yes the charcoal one. Make your clouds and where you want your moon to be, just about the example on the left. Don't worry if it doesn't look like mine, it is your painting with your personal way and touch to it. Let go with the next preset and smudge from the middle of each clouds and moon going to the left and from the middle of each one going to the right. I did want the lighter color to go into the dark color, that is why I did proceed to blend my color this way. Now it is time to save as. |
|
|
OK, now with the preset #7 , I decide where I wanted to
have the moon and click a few time to make that spot look like a moon.
With the next preset #8 the dodge tool again that has a different setting, I define the clouds, just like if the moon was shinning them. Not to bad isn't it. Don't worry if it is not perfect it can always be fix later on. Choose the next preset #10 that is a charcoal brush, we are going to draw the mountain shape we want to have. Try to draw where you wanted the snow to just more even you you go two or three time on some places and leave some dark place too cause this will give texture to your mountain. Save as and lets move on to the next page. |
