What is Pixels Art?

Even if commonly we just say pixel art, it is really Isometric Pixel Art (IPA). It is a modern form of digital art that has been accepted recently as a new art form. Remember the typical graphic artwork in old games? I'm pretty sure most of us have seen them before. The two dimensional (2D) representation of a three dimensional (3D) object is very fascinating to many of us. This may be because of all the amount of small detail and the simplicity that can fit into a single pixel art piece and yet be pleasing to the eye. Pixel Art can be compared to cartoons in many ways. We like to watch and accept the 2D art as it is very simple and easy to follow. In many ways Pixel Art like any other art work aims to draw your attention, to look like it comes from the real world, even if we know it was done on a computer generated image (CGI ).

Each image generated by the computer is a square block that we call a pixel. Each pixel is the same size as any other pixel, but it can be in any color we can think of and that can be fit together with other pixels. We could compare the pixel as a mosaic that is made of square tiles to form an overall picture. A good example is the letter " i " the small dot you see above the long vertical line is a single pixel. As a matter of fact, the whole letter itself is pixels put together.

In other words: Pixel art is art created on the computer using a graphics software that allow images to be edited on the pixel level.
